German engineering combined with the passion to build really good but nevertheless affordable bikes, this is us. We can draw on 16 years of experience in the development of bikes which we build not just for a small group of specialist enthusiasts but for all those who want to avail themselves of the many benefits a bike can offer. Our goal is always to develop the best bikes for every individual purpose. And naturally we are delighted that pursuing this philosophy has led to our being recognised in the world of professional bike sport as a top brand in Germany.

THE X-LINK
...system meaning the chainstay
swingarm is a one piece
unit through to the rear
dropouts with no interrupting
bearings. This design is stiff
and reliable as any extra links
and bearings in this part of the
bike are under a twisting load
from the chain. Due to the nature
of the derailleur system
the chain imparts these loads because it does not run exactly parallel
to the centre line of the bike. Above the dropout is a fully encapsulated
bushing which means the bushing is supported on
both sides of its length. As rotation is miminal this provides a much
stiffer interface for the seatstay strut connection than a bearing
arrangement. The seatstay strut is as short as possible and is
welded to a super stiff custom forged bracket which the shock is
mounted to. The defining point of the system is the black anodised
and forged X-Link which mates the swingarm to the mainframe itself.
It is designed as a structural load bearing component of the
frame and is the key to the lateral stiffness of a Bergamont suspension
frame. In the design of our bikes we have placed the
highest priority on handling well in the roughest of conditions and
have succeeded with a range of bikes that are leaders on the trail.
CROSS-LINK
...ultimate lateral frame stiffness to ensure the wheels always track in the same plane for high speed stability. Bikes with the Bergamont Cross-Link
exhibit excellent pedalling response due to the initial leverage ratio that has been engineered into the design.
The Cross-Link is always mounted on the downtube.
DOUBLE CHAMBER/MULTI CONNECT
...impacts. The performance benefit is incredible frame rigidity and resistance to torsion both under high steering
loads and acceleration. This is the combination of different manufacturing technologies in our carbon frames.
The parts of the frame subjected to the most extreme stresses, e.g. the front frame triangle is contructed as a monocoque assembly to ensure
optimum stiffness for power transmission.
The connections of the seatstay and chainstay segments are by means of overlapping joining methods to increase
the material at the junctions for optimum strength.
